Some iPhone owners can now file a claim for a payment from Apple’s proposed $250 million settlement over allegations that certain advertised Siri and Apple Intelligence features were not delivered as expected. Apple denies the allegations and has not admitted wrongdoing, and the settlement still requires final approval.
Eligible customers can receive a payment per qualifying device, with the amount potentially increasing depending on the number of valid claims and other settlement costs. The deadline to submit a claim is December 21, 2026.
Who is eligible for the Apple settlement?
According to the official Smartphone AI Settlement website, you may qualify if you live in the United States and purchased one of the following devices in the U.S.:
- iPhone 15 Pro
- iPhone 15 Pro Max
- iPhone 16
- iPhone 16e
- iPhone 16 Plus
- iPhone 16 Pro
- iPhone 16 Pro Max
The device must have been purchased between June 10, 2024 and March 29, 2025, for personal or business use rather than resale.
The claim form also requires you to confirm that, when you purchased the device, you expected to receive certain Siri Apple Intelligence features that you did not receive.
How to file a claim
Claims can be submitted through the official settlement website.
You’ll need to provide your contact information and information sufficient to verify your purchase or ownership of the eligible iPhone. You can submit a separate claim for each qualifying device.
If you need your iPhone’s serial number, you can find it by opening: Settings >> General >> About
The serial number appears near the top of the device information page. It may also be available on the iPhone’s original packaging or purchase receipt.
Claims must be submitted by December 21, 2026. Filing a valid claim is required to receive a payment; eligible class members who do nothing will not receive money from the settlement.
How much could you receive?
Customers with approved claims are initially allocated $25 per eligible device. The final payment could increase to as much as $95 per device or fall below $25, depending on how many valid claims are submitted, how many devices are claimed, and expenses deducted from the $250 million settlement fund.
The final payment amount will not be known until claims have been processed.
When will settlement payments arrive?
Payments will not be issued immediately after filing a claim.
There’s a final approval hearing on February 24, 2027, and if approved, payments can be processed after any appeals or other remaining proceedings are resolved.
