TP-Link has introduced its first range of Wi-Fi 8 networking products at IFA 2026, including the new Archer 8 Ultra router and Deco 8 Ultra mesh system. In its official announcement, the company said regional pre-orders for the Archer 8 Ultra are expected to begin on September 30.
Wi-Fi 8 is the next generation of wireless networking technology and is being developed under the IEEE 802.11bn standard. Unlike previous Wi-Fi upgrades that often focused heavily on higher maximum speeds, Wi-Fi 8 is also designed to improve reliability, coverage and performance in busy network environments.
TP-Link says the Archer 8 Ultra and Deco 8 Ultra use a group of new technologies it calls the Wi-Fi 8 StabilityEngine. These are intended to improve connections at longer distances, reduce interference and help networks remain responsive when many devices are connected at the same time.
The Archer 8 Ultra is a tri-band router with claimed combined wireless speeds of up to 19 Gbps. It also includes 10 Gbps wired connectivity and 18 internal antennas.
The Deco 8 Ultra is a tri-band mesh Wi-Fi system rated for combined wireless speeds of up to 22 Gbps in supported markets. TP-Link says a three-unit setup can cover up to 9,800 square feet and support more than 200 connected devices.
The company also plans to expand its Wi-Fi 8 range in 2027. Additional products are expected to include the Deco 8 mesh system, Roam 8 travel router, range extenders and Wi-Fi adapters.
They plan to share more details about the Archer 8 Ultra and Deco 8 Ultra during an online event on September 30. Pricing has not yet been announced, and specifications and availability may differ by region.
