Apple is expanding Creator Studio with new editing tools for Final Cut Pro, Motion and Pixelmator Pro, alongside smaller updates to Keynote, Pages, Numbers and Freeform.
Final Cut Pro and Motion on Mac will now support Cinematic mode effects for compatible video captured on iPhone 18 Pro. Editors will be able to change focus points and adjust depth of field directly in the Final Cut Pro timeline after recording.
The capability extends the flexibility of Cinematic editing beyond footage originally recorded in the dedicated Cinematic mode. Apple says Compressor will also be able to convert edited footage into the previous Cinematic mode format, while adding new HEVC and MPEG-4 presets aimed at social-media exports.
Pixelmator Pro Brings Select and Mask to iPad
Pixelmator Pro for iPad is gaining Select and Mask, a feature already available on Mac. It provides more precise controls for refining selections and masks, particularly around difficult edges such as hair and fur.
Apple is also adding new Pixelmator Pro templates for sports, product and business projects, along with a Podcasts category containing cover-art designs sized for major podcast platforms.
Productivity Apps Get Smaller Upgrades
Keynote, Pages and Numbers are receiving additional templates for Apple Creator Studio subscribers. Keynote can also generate images tailored to a presentation, while all three apps will allow users to request access to shared files.
Pages for Mac adds a Screen View designed for focused reading and writing, and Numbers gains additional trigonometry, statistics and logic functions.
Freeform is getting folders for organizing boards, automatic Dark Mode support and additional collaboration options. Apple Intelligence Writing Tools will also be able to rewrite, proofread and summarize handwritten notes.
In visionOS 27, Freeform users will be able to bring multiple board elements into their surrounding space, including images, videos, shapes and 3D models.
The most significant additions are concentrated in Apple’s creative tools: iPhone 18 Pro footage gains more flexibility during post-production, while Pixelmator Pro for iPad gets a more capable workflow for detailed image selections.
