Amazon Partners With Uber Eats for Free Delivery to Prime Members

Amazon has partnered with Uber Eats to introduce a new restaurant-delivery benefit for U.S. Prime members, allowing customers to order food directly through Amazon with no delivery fee on qualifying purchases.

The partnership, announced November 5, gives Prime subscribers access to hundreds of thousands of restaurants through Amazon.com and the Amazon Shopping app, with delivery powered by Uber Eats. The agreement replaces Amazon’s previous restaurant-delivery strategy with Grubhub.

Members can receive a $0 delivery fee on restaurant orders totaling $25 or more, without creating a separate Uber account or downloading the Uber Eats app. The service is available immediately across nearly 10,000 U.S. cities and towns, according to the companies.

Amazon previously offered Prime members complimentary access to Grubhub+, providing benefits such as waived delivery fees on eligible orders and discounted service charges.

The switch gives Uber Eats an opportunity to reach Amazon’s existing Prime customer base while allowing Amazon to expand its food-ordering services without operating its own restaurant-delivery network.

Customers can browse participating restaurants through Amazon, pay using their existing Amazon payment methods, and receive order updates through Amazon notifications.

The companies say the service includes national restaurant chains, regional establishments, and independent restaurants across major cities, suburban communities, and rural areas.

Prime Members Receive Introductory Discounts

To promote the launch, Amazon is offering eligible Prime members $20 off each of their first two Uber Eats restaurant orders of $25 or more during the introductory 14-day offer period.

Prime Visa cardholders can also earn 5% back on Uber Eats purchases through December 5, 2026.

The benefits extend to discounted Prime memberships, including Prime for Young Adults and Prime Access.

Although the partnership eliminates delivery fees on qualifying orders placed through Amazon, taxes, tips, and other applicable charges may still affect the final cost.

Amazon also estimates that the partnership could save members more than $175 annually through waived delivery fees and exclusive promotions. That estimate is based on typical ordering activity and a comparison with Uber Eats customers who do not subscribe to Uber One (actual savings will depend on ordering frequency, eligibility, and available promotions).

Amazon Expands Its Role in Food Delivery

Amazon has been developing its grocery-delivery business and integrating more services into Prime, while Uber has been expanding deliveries beyond restaurant meals into groceries and retail products.

Integrating Uber Eats directly into its shopping platform creates another reason for customers to use Prime while expanding the range of purchases available through its app. For Uber, the agreement offers access to a large pool of potential customers without requiring them to use a separate delivery application.

Amazon Prime currently costs $14.99 per month or $139 annually in the United States. If you haven’t tried Prime, you may be eligible for a free trial. Learn more on their official website here.
