Safeguard Your Online Accounts & Data with Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA)

Protect your digital accounts and data by enabling Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA).

What is MFA (or 2FA)?

MFA (multi-factor authethetication), sometimes referred to as 2FA (two-factor authentication) is a security control system requiring at least two verification methods to authorize access. MFA would also refer to more than two methods.

Multi Factor Authentication Protection - Modernizing Tech

You may have seen this type of security before with services or websites that require it, such as using your user and password then providing a code sent via text message at login. This would be a MFA method using SMS as additional verification.

MFA provides that extra layer of security to your online accounts by requiring more than just a password to log in, making it much harder for hackers to break into accounts. It’s a simple yet effective way to reduce the risk of unauthorized access.

Setting up MFA

You can set up MFA within your desired website or application’s settings. You can utilize different methods, such as SMS, a code from an authenticator app such as Google Authenticator, or a physical key.

If using social media network Facebook, for example, you can find this within Settings:

  • Go to Settings => Security and Login or with their support article here.

If using X (formely known as Twitter), you can enable within settings.

  • From the side menu choose More => Settings and privacy => Security and account access => Two-factor authentication. You can learn more at Twitter’s help center here.

Enable Multi-Factor Authentication today within the security settings of your online accounts.
