Mint Mobile, a subsidiary of T-Mobile known for its budget-friendly mobile plans, is now extending its offerings to home internet with the launch of MINTernet, powered by T-Mobile’s expansive 5G network. Starting at $30 per month with prepayment of several months, MINTernet aims to provide consumers with a cost-effective alternative to traditional home broadband services.
As consumers continue to seek ways to reduce their monthly expenses, many users have left big providers for more affordable options. According to recent data, over 60% of internet users are looking for better rates.
Mint’s MINTernet plans are designed to be accessible for most budgets. Existing Mint Mobile customers get an introductory price of just $30 per month for the first three months (which requires an upfront payment of $90). For those without a Mint phone plan, the price for the first three months is $40 per month, requiring an upfront payment of $120.
After the introductory period, customers can opt for a 12-month plan at the same $30/month rate with a 12-month upfront payment, or continue with a 3-month plan at a slightly higher price per month.
There are no additional equipment fees, which is an attractive feature for those tired of hidden charges from other service providers. Customers will receive a fixed wireless gateway, and can be set up in under 15 minutes in most cases.
Mint’s entry into the home internet market provides an alternative for those looking for affordable, reliable, and simple internet access. With competitive rates and no hidden equipment charges, MINTernet offers a straightforward, transparent pricing model that contrasts with the complexity often associated with traditional home internet providers.
And with the backing of T-Mobile’s vast 5G network, Mint promises to provide customers with speeds that are both fast and consistent.
