Microsoft, NVIDIA, and Anthropic have announced a new phase of strategic partnerships focused on large-scale AI infrastructure, cloud deployment, and long-term compute expansion. With this move, Anthropic becomes the only frontier AI provider offering models across all three major cloud platforms.
Under the agreement, Anthropic will significantly scale its Claude AI models on Microsoft Azure, using NVIDIA’s latest computing platforms. The company has committed to purchasing billions of dollars in Azure compute capacity, with additional contracted capacity potentially reaching up to one gigawatt. The expansion reflects the rapidly increasing infrastructure demands of frontier AI models.
Anthropic and NVIDIA will also collaborate more closely on system and architecture optimization. The partnership includes plans to align Anthropic’s model development with NVIDIA’s current and upcoming platforms, including Grace Blackwell and future Vera Rubin systems, with the goal of improving performance and efficiency at scale.
On the cloud side, Anthropic’s Claude models will be made available to enterprise customers through Microsoft Foundry, expanding model choice for businesses building and deploying AI applications on Azure. Claude will also continue to be available across Microsoft’s Copilot offerings.
The partnerships are supported by substantial new investments, with NVIDIA committing up to $10 billion and Microsoft up to $5 billion in Anthropic.
While no new benchmarks or product features were announced, the deal highlights a broader shift in the AI industry toward long-term infrastructure commitments, deeper coordination between hardware and model development, and intensifying competition among cloud providers to host advanced AI systems.
