Microsoft Confirms Messaging Delays in Teams

Microsoft has confirmed an active service issue affecting Microsoft Teams, with some users experiencing messaging delays and problems with other service functions.

The issue was confirmed by Microsoft via the official Microsoft 365 Status account on X (formerly Twitter).

In its statement, Microsoft said it is actively investigating the issue, observing signs of recovery in internal telemetry, and continuing analysis to identify the impacted scenarios and determine the cause. Administrators were advised to review the Microsoft 365 admin center for additional details under incident ID TM1200517.

Outage monitoring platforms such as Downdetector recorded a spike in user-reported issues related to Microsoft Teams during the afternoon. By 3:00 PM EST, the volume of reports began to trend downward, suggesting that the service was stabilizing for many users as recovery progressed.
