Microsoft Announces New Cloud PC Devices for Windows 365

Microsoft has announced an expansion of its Windows 365 hardware ecosystem with two new Cloud PC devices developed in partnership with ASUS and Dell. The devices are designed to provide organizations with cloud-first endpoints that connect directly to Windows 365 Cloud PCs, simplifying device management and reducing reliance on local systems.

Windows 365 is Microsoft’s cloud-based PC service that streams a full Windows desktop from the cloud, allowing organizations to separate user data and applications from physical devices. Microsoft reports growing adoption of Windows 365 across industries including manufacturing, retail, healthcare, and professional services.

It builds on Microsoft’s earlier introduction of Windows 365 Link, a class of devices designed to boot directly into a cloud-hosted Windows environment rather than running applications locally.

New Devices from ASUS and Dell

ASUS NUC 16 for Windows 365 is a compact mini-PC with a 0.7-liter form factor, supporting up to three displays through HDMI and USB-C connections. The device is aimed at flexible deployments such as shared workspaces and is expected to become generally available in the United States and Europe in the third quarter of 2026.

Dell Pro Desktop for Windows 365 is a fanless, compact desktop designed for quiet operation and durability, also supporting up to three displays with flexible mounting options. Dell plans to make the device available in 58 countries, with general availability targeted for the third quarter of 2026.

How Cloud PC Devices Work

Unlike traditional PCs, Cloud PC devices do not store applications or user data locally. Instead, they connect users directly to a Windows desktop hosted in the Microsoft Cloud, with device configuration and policy management handled through Microsoft Intune.

These devices run a locked-down operating system called Windows CPC, which receives automatic updates and limits local administrative access. Microsoft says this design helps reduce the attack surface and simplify endpoint security.

Microsoft also noted that upcoming Windows CPC updates in 2026 will add Bluetooth pairing during initial setup and support tenant branding on the sign-in screen.

Windows 365 Link is currently available in 20 countries, with broader availability planned.

The addition of new ASUS and Dell devices signals Microsoft’s continued push toward cloud-centric endpoints as organizations seek simpler, more centrally managed computing environments.
