Krispy Kreme, the popular doughnut and coffee chain restaurant, has been hit with a cyberattack affecting their online systems. This has been impacting their order fulfillment process for online orders.
In an recent filing, they confirmed recent unauthorized access within their IT systems which may have an impact on earnings.
Krispy Kreme is currently investigating the breach, with the help of cybersecurity experts and advisors. The cyberattack has currently only affected delivery orders, so in-store pickup orders and partner deliveries are unaffected.
There are over 350 Krispy Kreme locations in the U.S. with digital pickup or delivery orders, so this will have an affect on their digital sales.
This comes a day before their popular day of the dozen BOGO deals, which comes with a free dozen glazed donuts with the purchase of any dozen donuts.
