A human-like robot with muscle cells and realistic movements was recently showcased by Clone Robotics.
And it’s very realistic. So much so that it could be a bit creepy. And without the scenery and machinery (and maybe with a set of clothing), one may think it’s an aerial dance.
Advanced Bionic Robots
Clone Robotics is a company that develops highly advanced, human-like bionic robots. They aim to use advanced musculoskeletal technology to create bionic machines that can help with daily tasks.
The company’s journey began with the creation of a highly advanced robotic hand, setting the stage for their larger goal of creating a fully functional android.
Artificial Muscle Fibers
One of the most interesting aspects is their myofiber technology, a revolutionary material that mimics the properties of human muscle fibers. The bionic robots boasts over 1,000 myofibers.
Traditional robots rely on rigid mechanical joints and motors, which limits fluid movements. Myofiber a is system of artificial muscle fibers but acts more like the real muscle tissue in our bodies, contracting and expanding like muscle fibers to create smooth, natural movements. This technology is a breakthrough in robotics, as it allows the performing of tasks with a level of dexterity and strength that mimics the way human muscles react to different loads and forces.
