Google Photos is enhancing its feature set with its new Photo to video feature with Veo 3, an advanced video generation model that transforms still images into higher-quality short clips.
This update is part of the newly introduced Create tab, a central hub for creativity within Google Photos.
Users can now access Veo 3 by selecting Photo to video in the Create tab and choosing between “Subtle movement” or “I’m feeling lucky” animation options. This allows photos to gain natural-looking motion or surprise effects.
The Create tab also offers additional generative AI tools, with the ability to combine them, such as restyling a photo with Remix before turning it into a video.
Standard users receive a limited number of video generations each day, while Google AI Pro and Ultra subscribers get expanded access.
Try it out today in the Photos app (available in the Android Play Store and Apple App Store or in Gemini via web), or learn more about the new feature additions on Google’s official blog post here.
