Video creation has just gotten a lot easier with AI. Microsoft has introduced Bing Video Creator, a new feature within Bing that allows users to turn text prompts into short, dynamic videos using artificial intelligence. It can help anyone—from content creators and marketers to casual users—easily generate videos without the need for complex editing software or technical expertise.
Whether you’re a tech-savvy creator looking to add a custom video to your social media feed or someone simply curious about turning an idea into a quick visual, Bing Video Creator makes it easy for anyone to bring their vision to life with just a few lines of text, no complex editing software or technical expertise needed.
It’s powered by OpenAI, making it fast and efficient. You simply describe what you want and it will handle the rest, generating within just a few seconds.
You can use it for a range of purposes:
- Personal Moments: Whether you’re commemorating a special event or turning a funny scenario into a short video, Bing Video Creator gives you a fast way to create memorable content.
- Social Media Content: Standing out on social media is easier when you have custom, AI-generated videos. Share a quirky clip, tell a story, or even create something purely for fun.
- Creative Exploration: The possibilities are endless. With Bing Video Creator, you can test different video styles, try out new visual concepts, and experiment with ideas without needing professional editing tools.
Simple, User-Friendly Process
Getting started with Bing Video Creator is a breeze. If you’re on a mobile device, all you need is the Bing Mobile App (desktop version coming soon).
Once you have the app, follow these simple steps:
- Open the App: Tap the menu in the bottom-right corner and select Video Creator.
- Describe Your Idea: Type in a description of the video you want to create. The more specific you are, the more accurately the AI can bring your idea to life.
- Let AI Work Its Magic: After you click Create, the AI will generate a 5-second video based on your prompt.
- Download or Share: Once your video is ready, you’ll get a notification. You can download it, share it via email or social media, or even just keep it in your library for later.
It currently supports 9:16 (ideal for social media content such as stories) with 16:9 coming soon and users can queue up to three video creations at a time, which is perfect for those who want to generate multiple videos in one sitting.
There’s also room for creativity. The key to getting the best results is providing a detailed and specific prompt. By being more descriptive and using action verbs and adjectives, you can influence the tone, movement, and overall feel of your video. For instance, instead of asking for “a person walking,” you could specify “a young woman in a red coat walking through a snowy forest at sunrise.”
Bringing Video Creation to Everyone
The tool is currently free to use, and once you’ve exhausted your first 10 fast video generations, you can redeem Microsoft Rewards points to continue generating videos at the same speed. After that, the videos will be created at a standard pace, but it still remains a quick process overall.
Bing Video Creator can be a helpful tool for those who have little to no experience in video production, removing barriers to video creation and opening up opportunities for anyone to create high-quality videos on the fly.
And this is just the latest in Microsoft’s AI innovation. From Bing Image Creator, which lets users generate images from text, to Copilot Search, which blends traditional search with generative capabilities, they continue to make powerful AI tools accessible to everyday users.
