Nova Launcher, the popular Android home screen customization app, has confirmed that it will continue to be actively maintained and supported after being acquired by Instabridge.
In a post on the Nova Launcher website, Instabridge emphasized that the app will not shut down and that the immediate focus is on stability, compatibility with modern Android versions, and ongoing maintenance.
The update also clarified plans for Nova Prime users, noting that existing purchases will continue to work and remain ad-free, while exploring sustainable options for free users, including paid tiers and non-disruptive ads, and ensuring that Nova Prime remains unaffected. The company emphasized that Nova’s core identity (speed, performance, and customization) will remain central to future development.
The post reassured users that privacy will remain a priority, with minimal data collection and no sale of personal information. The company also acknowledged ongoing discussions around potentially open-sourcing Nova Launcher in the future.
This announcement provides clarity for Nova users who have faced uncertainty in recent years and signals that the app will continue to evolve responsibly while maintaining its core strengths.
